A kickass band with an awesome and singular music, just leave me your feedbacks.

Do you really hear any SYL or Alice in Chains in that? I'd like to hear you expand upon that assertion.

They sound more like a core influenced System of a Down than any of the bands you listed. They seem to simply scream "look how quirky and ironic we are; we're also emo."

Listen to "le Temps de la Reflexion" and "Sors la Tęte" you'll hear some Pantera in it, you'll hear some dark sound from ALice In Chains cadaver, you'll hear the mad chaotic sense of orchestration of Franck Zappa and Mike Patton...

How can you compare it to System Of A Down ??? To me it's far from being an insult (for their first albums) but their music is totally different...

I guess you have shit in your ears, Fuck man just LISTEN how can you compare their musical genius with little rich kids screaming because they have no life ??? (and most of the time no imagination either)

You like to judge but don't go too quickly my friend, or you'll miss some good music... but anyway thank you for your comment...

The System comparison is derived mostly from approach not necessarily from sound, though vocally they have a touch of System. They definetly attempt to be quirky and dark, which is rather System-esque, though they don't give you the political posturing of System. To me musical genius is far from chugga-chugga-chugga psuedo-hardcore riffs. They are rather emo, or at least goth, in image and lyrics.

"Who else can you trust? - Trust me! Trust me!
What else can be burnt? - Burn me! Burn me!
Who wants to be hurt? - Hurt me! Hurt me"- Love is Dead

Associating love and death is an emo trait. And again, their use of breakdowns and chugging riffs is akin to the likes of Bullet for My Valentine. Sure they throw in some brief blues, post-rock, and industrial elements to attempt to mask their generic metalcore sound. In the end metalcore is still metalcore.

Musical technique has nothing to do with feelings, Blues music was commonly judged as "basic music" by haughty white guys, convinced of their total superiority over black people, but without blues : no rock'n'roll, without rock'n'roll you wouldn't even know what "black", "death", or "doom" metal is...

Associating love and death is an emo trait...
Hey man you're kiding, the world is not 19, like you are. So I'll tell Shakespeare he was an EMo Kid, I'll also tell Jim Morisson, and Charles Beaudelaire Too, and also 80% of the past and present metal bands, stop saying nonsense "Bullet For My Valentine" Is Shit, you've only listened to one title to judge Psykup Music...

"To me musical genius is far from chugga-chugga-chugga psuedo-hardcore riffs."
Tell me what is a real hardcore riff lol ( rock'nroll come from blues, and blues is groove, r'n'r gave birth to heavy metal, and so on... a band like Pantera or Korn made metalcore break the linear metal rythmic, that mean they were more on rythmic matters than on melodies, maybe that what you don't like in it) But you have no real arguments no musician's arguments, just prejudices about some "style of music" that don't make sense...

These men from Psykup are genius man, i repeat it : Drummer & Guitarist come from Jazz Bands, they've grown with Cannibal Corpse Music, and rythmic guitarist play with a funk orchestra... I can tell you their technique is not "generic metalcore sound" but it's sure : they are open minded, and to me there is too much people like you in metal, being just 19 and believing they are real haters, not "fags", who like "The great Lord Satan", "War" but you are a wealthy little white boy living in a confortable world, What impeach you enrolling in army, going to war, and make your thoughts coherent with your actions... but wait some irony ? it would be an EMO trait...?

To me you appear to be close minded, I also have limits, but i can apreciate Good Hip Hop, as Funk, as blues, as Punk, as hardcore as trip hop... I know, i know, to you I'm a Fag or a mainstream guy...

That's like in religion, you would be extremist, i would be progressist... No Dogma for me, no stupid classification, intolerance... But you would pretend having the "real" thing, pure, when others, like me, would mess it all... I'm from the 90's man, so my state of mind is mixing races, cultures, musics, labels, maybe it's not the case in South Africa, right ?

That the difference between us, or maybe just a generation conflict ??? (as back in 90's when bands like Nirvana (Earth's friends) put an end to Glam Heavy Metal Bands posers shit like Mötley Crue or Poison... I was so happy, people like you at this time were crying "the real good music will come back"...arguing their music technique and "quality" were undeniably superior to little punk wankers... Maybe a revenge from these times...)

Wow, I really hope you didn't just compare this to Shakespeare. Oh wait, I think you did, I believe I'm going to be ill.

Everything else you've said is the hopeless meandering of someone who can't back up anything he says other than through various sociological and psychological psuedo-analysis. Such is the unfortunate malady of fanboy-ism. I will ignore it as such.

Humanumber9Mar 18, 11:44am
I don't compare anyone, I wouldn't dare. I though you were a little smarter, i said Shakespeare to show you associating love & death doesn't prove it's EMO...
ignore it, it's better.
I don't have the truth perhaps you do.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo] (it's not the definition you seems to give of emo...)

"this definitely makes me listen to the band"

You're not a pussy !!! come on, you won't listen to a sold "metalcore" band (lol they are even less richer than the guys of Jethro Tull... and Kamelot> that's so extreme...made me laugh), or an emo-gay lyrics that talk about pain you feel... while it should be pain you give, testosterone, war and torture, you know you're real tough guys living in hell... (mama's house)

Metalcore is a crossover style that have been popular, i wonder what between crossover and popular annoys you the most to let you def as a leppard...

Toward technique it's a big joke a proof to me that you judge the style of music but not the quality of the musicians (drummer included) Even If I Think technique doesn't necessary make a good band, In that case it does.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE CROSSOVER MUSIC DON'T BOTHER LISTENING TO THAT BAND.
